Timothy's Surprise Birthday Bash!

I simply adore Timothy; he's my elder sister's son. When Lisa had announced that she was preggers, I was over the moon! I was waiting eagerly for the baby to arrive. I was shopping for Lisa and the baby first and second for myself. Considering the fact that I'm a selfish imp at times, this was a phenomenal change in my behavior! Of course, I love Lisa too; it's just that I'm the naughty and spoilt brat in the family.

Raynes Park picture framers designing my frames
An expecting mother should be surrounded with all things good. So I had decided to get her some really beautiful posters and images that she could hang up on the walls. I had also got some of our family pics printed in larger size! I had placed the bundle in my car and was driving to Lisa's place to plop it on her floor. That's when I had come across the Raynes Park picture framers. I still don't recall what had exactly drawn me to that shop, but it had been the best thing to happen on that day. Once inside, I had been surrounded by frames of all designs and sizes. I had realized what a big mistake I was going to make by taking the posters and pictures for Lisa. I had completely forgotten about framing them! The staff had been friendly and suggested some great frames. I had left all the pictures with them and gone on my way to Lisa's house. I had later collected them when the job was done. And what a job they had done! The pictures still look stunning set in their frames. Though that was years back, Lisa and I often laugh at how I was stupid enough to consider bringing the pictures over as they were. Lisa was so hapapy with the framing job that she secretly took her husband's prized possession- a T-shirt autographed by his favourite football player to the framers. She got it mounted and framed and hung it in his study as a V-day gift. He was left speechless!

Wall sticker in Timothy's room
Tomorrow is Tim's 5th birthday! As a doting aunt, I have to make it a memorable one. The kiddo loves animals. Last year, I had bought him children's wall stickers to adorn his room. Even now, his room looks like a mini jungle due to the vibrant colours used to print the images. I was spoilt for choice at the different stickers available. I'm glad he loves his room! He has even rearranged the stickers twice according to his preference. It's amazing how the walls remain residue free when we peel off the stickers.

Travelling in the Cab
This year, I've got loads of surprises for him. I have planned a weekend trip for the whole family to London. I'm certain Timmy is gonna love it! He has wanted to go on the London Eye since months. Lisa and her husband are celebrating their wedding anniversary the day after tomorrow. So, I've got gifts for her and Dan too. Dan is sure to thank me for the trip; he loves places that have a rich history. I've booked a Kingston cab to take us all together on our trip. My parents and brother will be coming along as well, so I booked an 8 seater MPV. We haven't gone on a trip since quite some time...

Mind you, I didn't have a lot of cash stowed away to plan all this. How could I ask mum or dad to finance everything?! It was my idea and I had to figure out a way. As soon as I realized I was falling short of cash for my big plans, I started thinking of where I could get some extra pounds from. I didn't have to wonder for long; I had stocked up some gold jewellery over the years. With gold prices high, I decided to sell it away. But where? That was the scary part. I didn't wanna be duped of my hard earned money! I had heard that people sell jewellery for cash online. I had talked about this with my colleagues at work and I was suggested to go for it. I was told that they can offer the top prices to sellers. I was quite skeptical about it but went ahead. I was relieved when I received a cheque from them. The process was absolutely easy and I was paid exactly what they had quoted initially. They had sent me a package in which I was supposed to place the jewellery and mail it back to them. So I saved on postage too.

Loving my new look!
Finally, I was able to plan big with the dough... Guess what? I used some of it to get a Kerastraight Blow dry! I was aching to get it since God knows when but didn't have money to spare. The hairdressers in Epsom where I regularly get my hair styled at did a fabulous job on the straightening too. I could trust them with anything! They were our first choice at Lisa's wedding and they had different hairstyles for each one of us. Lisa had gone for extensions; she wanted long wavy tresses. Dan says that he had fallen in love again when Lisa was walking up the aisle with dad. And when I had stuffed up my hair colour experiment, they knew exactly what had to be done to my hair. I love how they know what goes right with what.

They are all wondering why I'm so excited these days. They'll soon know... :)
